Amrinder Singh Cheema Bagged the 2nd Position, While two other Old Yadavindrians Participated in the 60th National Shotgun Championship

During the men’s skeet gold at the 60th National shotgun championship, Mairaj Ahmad Khan essayed the title of being the best shotgun marksman in the country, but he had to be at his best to beat Amrinder Singh Cheema. An Old Yadavindrian, Amrinder Singh Cheema won the Silver medal in the Men's Skeet Event. Old Yadavindrians are making a name for themselves in the field of sports… more often than ever before… And we are proud of each one of them.

As Gursobha Primes to Become India'a equestrian flagbearer, OYA is once again proud of this Young Prodigy

Gursobha Singh, the 18-year old equestrian prodigy from Yadavindra Public School, is all set to step into adulthood with his eyes firmly set on the Olympic rings. The proud YPS student has been making headlines for quite a while now as the upcoming and most promising self-made Indian sports champion. The latest coverage by Times of India is nothing less than an inspiring story to read. Here it goes.

Reetinder Singh Sidhu

The entire OYA fraternity expresses deep shock and distress at the sudden demise of Mr. Reetinder Singh Sidhu, Joint Secretary, AYOSA, And an Old Yadavindrian of the ISC: 1984 batch, in a road accident on 27th April, 2015.

Known to be a man of gentle manners and an affable nature, Mr. Sidhu’s concern for the school and his pivotal role as an AYOSA office bearer shall always be remembered and commended. The School fraternity deeply condoles the irreparable loss and prays for a pacific repose of the departed soul.

Rajmata Yadunandan Kumari of Nalagarh

The OYA fraternity mourns the demise of Rajmata Yadunandan Kumari of Nalagarh, former member, School Board of Governors, who passed away on 30th April, 2015 . An extremely, warm, affectionate and generous lady, Rajmata Yadunandan Kumari had the distinction of holding the office of member of the School Board of Governors for thirty five years – from 1971 till 2006, a term during which she contributed significantly to the growth of the school.

Dr. Harish Dhillon

Dr. Harish Dhillon, our former Headmaster at YPS Patiala from 1987 to 1995 passed away on 21st August, 2015 at 3:15 PM at Fortis Hospital, Mohali. Dr. Dhillon had his early schooling from “The Lawrence School Sanawar” and thereafter joined the Indian Army briefly. On his premature discharged from the army he joined Lucknow University as a young lecturer and taught there for seven years. He was appointed as Principal at YPS, Patiala and subsequently he moved on to be The Headmaster of the Lawrence School Sanawar and later on he took over as Principal of YPS Mohali where he served till 2010.

Ajay Gupta

With utmost grief and sorrow we wish to communicate the untimely death of one of our old Yadavindrians, Ajay Gupta from the Class of 1987 in an accident. Ajay completed his BS in Environmental Studies from the US. He later worked for UNDP/GEF developing environmental projects around the world including India’s Biodiversity Strategy. Ajay also spent a year working in a village of Garhwal, which was followed by his visit to Brazil where he worked with communities in the rainforest.

Ravinder Pahwa

It was on 8th Sept. 2016, when we woke up to the saddest news of our Beloved teacher Ravinder Pahwa Ma'am being passed away suddenly! A brilliant teacher, a noble soul and an amazing human being, Pahwa Ma’am was certainly the most treasured teacher at YPS Chandigarh. Our deepest condolence to the Pahwa family at the present moment of loss! We believe Mrs. Pahwa will always remain alive in our memories and in all the life lessons that we have learned from her being students!
